North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il has died as a result of an apparent heart attack that he suffered. I have been following this guy’s reign over North Korea for some time and talked about it sparingly. Get caught up here. This is a major blow. His son Kim Jong Un will take over as leader and he has a penchant for western civilization from things like fancy cars and the finest of clothes to basketball and Nike shoes. Will this help relations with North Korea and the rest of the rest of the world or hurt it? Chinese leaders and officials were pretty close with Kim Jong Il and they had a pretty good relationship so how will this effect their relationship? So many questions. Since we don’t know much about his son Kim Jong Un we can only speculate right now.

North and South Korea exchange gunfire killing 2 South Korean Marines. Now the South Korean leader Lee Myang-Bak, is threatening to retaliate.  President Obama has already called Myang – Bak about the incident and has pledged his alliance. How long do you think before we are even more active in this battle between the North and South? The world has already condemned the actions of North Korea on numerous occasions. This could be the beginning of something of the likes that we have not seen in a long time. World War III? I hate to say it but anything is possible in a situation like this. A powerful nation that is condemned and hated by the majority of the rest of the world performing heinous, violent and negative acts towards another country that is an ally with other parts of the world.  I surely hope that this does not turn into something uglier than what it already is but it is definitely headed in that direction.

After 7 1/2 years of this Iraqi war it will finally come to an end.  Can you believe it? Yes this ill-advised war will finally be over! The question I have is what’s next?  As an American and a veteran I know that this is a huge deal and I’m glad that they are coming home.  I think this is long overdue. You just don’t understand and I can’t put into words how overjoyed I am to hear this. I have friends and even family that are over there and to know that they are coming home makes me ecstatic!!  Even though we have lost some of our troops I can take comfort in knowing that no others have to lose their lives in this long 7 1/2 year war. Hopefully they will all be able to peacefully exit and return home.

My question still remains, what’s or who’s next? With Kim Jung Il over in North Korea making threats and such.  Is North Korea next on the Military’s “to do list”?

North Korea has said that it will “legitimately counter with powerful nuclear deterrence the largest ever nuclear war exercises to be staged by the U.S. and the South Korean Puppet Forces.”  North Korea is still upset that they are blamed for the sinking of a North Korean War ship a few months back and they aren’t big fans of the United States so even the notion of the United States and South Korea doing anything together can be seen as some type of hostile act in the eyes of North Korea.

While this is only a threat for now, I do believe that North Korea is very capable of carrying out this threat.  They have already vowed to have a physical response to the drills that the U.S. and North Korea plan on starting Sunday (7/25/10).  I don’t think that this is just some idle threat that should be taken lightly even though that’s probably how some of the people in power feel.  We are not invulnerable and we can be touched. Never underestimate a crazy man, especially one with a large army and nuclear weapons.

The U.S. military doesn’t seem to take this threat seriously because there was ‘no sign of significant troop movement’ but how significant of a movement do you expect.  If they are planning a nuclear attack or response then there is not a need for a significant amount of troop movement.  This may be something that they said just to throw us off and downplay the situation though.  who knows.

North Korea is a major foe with major nuclear power at its disposal.  Threats like these should not be taken lightly and some type of resolution should try to be reached before this gets ugly. Or is it too late for that?

So I’ve been following the situation with North Korea (click here) for a little while now and this new move surprisingly doesn’t come as much of a shock to me.  I knew that eventually Kim Jong Il was going to declare some type of act of war against the South.  It was written on the wall.  This latest move just solidified it for me.  Check it out here. This move came after south Korea announced and made public their report that showed evidence that North Korea sunk one of their Naval warships killing 147 people, also announcing that they would be cutting some of their trades and denying permission for the North Korea cargo ships to pass through their waters.  Kim Jung Il is not one to take this lying down.  He has threaten military action because of this and we already know that he’s capable of doing damage.  Here’s a report and proof of them sinking a South Korean Warship back in March.  Click here for the story.

South Korea is already readying their troops as well, just as a precaution. President Obama has already told his military commanders to be prepared for a response in case something does happen.  so I ask again, do you feel that we can fight two wars on two different continents effectively?

Puppet Of North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il

Lil Kim is back at it again! No not the rapper but the North Korean leader. He’s test fired 4 short-range missiles. This time they did warn that they would be doing some ‘Military testing’ off their east coast until July 10th. The question is; why is he testing short-range missiles? Matter of fact, why is he testing nuclear missiles to begin with? I’ve been following this story for a while now and it seems to me like it’s leading closer and closer to war, or at least some type of military action that will most likely lead to war. It’s already been reported that they are planning on shooting a long range missile towards Hawaii on July 4th so we’ve  already stepped up forces around the area but will it be enough? Is it a bluff and he’s really aiming at another target, say California?

Now Kim Jong Il is getting up there in age and had a stroke a while ago, so what’s he doing? He’s grooming his 26 year old son, Jong Un, to take over the ‘family business’ in his absence. This will not go away any time soon. We’re talking generations of the same thing.

As much as we may think we’re a military powerhouse and all, I really don’t think we want it with North Korea. Not only the nuclear weapons aspect but also the fact that he has over 1.5 million reserve troops! Yes I said Reserve troops!! So you can imagine how large his full military is.  North Korea is the largest militarized country in the world! If it comes to war this guy is definitely not afraid to lose a few hundred thousand of his soldiers.

This is gearing up for a possible World War III. There is no way that one country can fight him alone. This whole  situation intrigues me. Not only because I’m a history buff and love war and conflict but also as prior military with time still left on my contract. I’ll keep an eye on this situation as it develops as it looks like it sure to do.

*UPDATE*

Apparently they shot 7 more missiles today (7/4/09) towards the Sea of Japan.

I know it seems like I’m talking about this a bunch but this is serious. I think this could potentially become something major whether we want it to or not.

Remember when I told you about The U.S. tracking a North Korean Cargo ship? Well,  it seems that Lil Kim says that he would consider any interception an “act of war.” We may be definitely on the brink of a nuclear war! Real talk!!!

The U.S. is saying that they have no intent on stopping the ship to search it but due to new international laws, any suspicious ship can be searched in port and the ship will eventually need to port for fuel. So, it’s basically a waiting game right now.

My question is… Can we fight 2 wars at the same time? Remember, we haven’t officially pulled out of this “Iraqi Freedom” yet. *Shouts to my homie Gucci (Elijah Colclough)! He’s overseas in Iraq right now. Be strong bruh we’re praying for you and you know we got your back!!* I honestly don’t think we’re capable of fighting 2 wars at the same time successfully. Especially against a crazy man like Kim Jong IL. I mean, the guy is really out there! But hey who am I to judge…

Looks like the military is loading up in response to the nuclear activities of North Korea. And it seems that they are tracking a ship from North Korea that may be carrying weapons. This is getting crazy! I told you guys North Korea is no joke!

The ish is really about to hit the fan now!! I told you guys a couple of weeks ago that North Korea is gearing up for some big stuff. Now lil Man is making threats against the U.S. and U.N. forces. Mark my words, I really hate to say it but some serious ish is going to pop off and soon.

I study history and I know that usually these type of threats are not idle. These type of threats are not to be taken lightly. Typically a country doesn’t make threats like this to a so called “military super power” unless they feel they have the ability to back it up. Nobody’s that crazy, not even North Korea.

If you have no idea what I just wrote about then you really need to step your current events game up. Not the ‘who’s doing who’ current events but the REAL current events.
