A Gold Star For Me
So I just left the doctor’s office and I’m in the mall looking for a gift for my wonderful mother and decided to update you guys on what happened with my appointment. Nothing much. I went in for some results to some lab work that I have to get done routinely every 2-3 months. According to my labs I’m doing great. While I don’t feel like I’m progressing and at times I actually feel horrible, I am actually doing well. My levels are had of what they were last October. I started with an a1c of 14, which is super duper high, and now I’m at 7.4. I need to get that down to 6 or under. No biggie… I can get that done before my next appointment in September.
My weight is steadily increasing. My doctor is not fine with it but he isn’t too worried about it because I’m still supposedly in that “healthy zone” as he likes to call it. I’m not thrilled about it and will be taking drastic measures to get it back to where I think it should be. I’m short so too much weight on me and I’ll either look like a pot belly pig or a tree stump. Its a delicate balancing act that I have to play when it comes to my weight and appearance.
So as for now my doctor thinks I’m doing well and that I’m managing my diabetes on my own very efficiently. I got a gold star on my chart for this visit! Don’t laugh… its the little things in life like a simple little gold star tat motivate me. Next time, if I bring my A1C levels down to 6 or below and lose about 5-10 lbs, I may get the platinum one.
That’s all I got
Sincere
