The Game Season 3 Episode 17 Recap
This episode starts off with Med school jumping the bones of the cable guy *her real life husband* at Kelly’s house as Kelly and Tasha walk in. They lecture her about how she is jumping from man to man and how her standards have dropped dramatically since she broke up with Derwin.
At Derwin’s apartment… Janay and Derwin are discussing names for the baby and enjoying dinner when Hill Harper *Janay’s ex boyfriend* calls to say hello and to meet up with her for lunch the next day. After she hangs up she asks Derwin, out of respect, if it would be okay if she went. Of course he agrees *even though you can tell he really doesn’t want her to go*.
The next day at the Apartment… The guys (Malik, Javon, Jason and Derwin) are playing poker when Malik discovers the book that Hill Harper gave Janay with a note attached. The note is a list of Maxwell songs that Janay and Hill used to dig back in their day. Of course Derwin goes over the top * rightfully so, without knowing the whole situation*. She tells him not to worry about it.
On The Set… After Hill finishes a scene Derwin approaches him about the note. Hill *being real off-ish* hands him an autograph without even looking up. When he introduces himself, Derwin tries to step to him and Hill has Derwin escorted off the set. He sneaks back on by joining a walking tour of the backlot. He runs into Hill again and they talk. He tells him how he doesn’t appreciate him stepping to Janay, but it turns into a speech about taking care of Janay and handling his business. Janay told Hill all about what was going on with Med school and all that drama. He doesn’t think that it’s really over with Med school and Derwin.
Back at the Apartment… Med school stops through to drop off the gifts that she got for the baby. Derwin isn’t there at first and it’s sems akward, but then he walks up. As they are small talking, Derwin notices Dr. Grizzly in the bag of stuff for the baby. Only this time Dr Grizzly is now football Grizzly. *If you recall Dr. Grizzly was the bear that he was supposed to get rid of when janay moved in the first time.* When med school leaves Janay says that Hill called about him stopping by the set. Derwin gets all up in arms and says that they are fine and happy. they then begin to argue about how they are making the best out of a messed up situation. When Janay goes to throw out the bear Derwin stops her. *because he still has feelings for Med school and the bear represents her*. She knows that he would rather be with Med school instead of her, if it weren’t for her eing pregnant. After the explosive fight * it was too much for me to write but please believe it was explosive* they both walk away from the each other.
Back at Kelly’s… Med school comes back to return the key and catches Kelly dry humping the owner of her gym. She pulls med school to the side and tells her that she’s been seeing him for a while and that she is thinking about getting serious with him. *yet he hasn’t met any of her friends or Brittany* med school tells her that she put the final nail in the coffin by taking the baby things to Derwin and Janay.
Back at the Apartment… Janay comes from the bedroom to ask Derwin, who’s sitting on the couch, if he’s coming to bed. He says that he’ll be there in a bit as he looks off reflecting. Maxwell’s ‘Whenever, Whatever, wherever plays as they fade from him thinking to med school packing his Jersey and last bits of his things into a box as she walks off they fade to black ending this episode.

Again, great recap, Sin. For some reason, I came into the episode with my guard up because I just KNEW something was gonna happen this time to ruin what we (as Team Derwin) want for he and Janay and the whole fight over the damn bear and just broke my heart.
Damn Melanie to hell for bringing that piece of shit over there in the first place. How did she end up BACK with the bear after Janay first chucked it? Did Melanie find the bear in Derwin’s trash or something? I can’t remember, but for her to clean it and give it BACK to him (in front of Janay) was a “thirsty” move – as you would say. Janay has very valid points. Derwin had no right to get upset with her over her past with Hill and the “note” and the fact that they’re still in contact with each other, when obviously the BEAR is equivalent to the NOTE and Melanie still has Derwin’s contact info. I mean, hell, she was JUST riding in the backseat of his coup last week after effin’ up her own tires! *Scoffs*
Ya know, my bottom line is this. Derwin and Melanie have already TRIED to be together despite this whole pregnancy thing and it didn’t work ’cause she’ll always have resentment over his responsibilities involving the baby. Derwin has no other option, doesn’t he understand that??? He needs to effin’ CHILL and calm down.
As for this being the last episode, they better not do this to us. THEY might have closure but I don’t! LMAO! I need it to be a concrete concensus that Derwin is done with Melanie and happy with Janay and the baby!

Thanks!! You know Team Janay aka Team Derwin was not gonna come without some kind of problem. So many haters!! lol That fight got to me too, when I saw that damn Dr Grizzly I knew it was gonna be some ish when med school left! I think that both Janay and Derwin has unresolved issues with their exes. I still can’t believe she brought that bear over. I thought Janay threw it out as well when she saw it in the drawer but I guess she didn’t or the writers conveniently forgot about that part. I don’t think they could go any further with Med school and Derwin because it would be like beating a dead horse. that ship has sailed. there is no happy ending with them. I hope that wasn’t the end but it sure felt like it! I want to see baby Derwin born and all!

So do I! I wanna see the concrete DNA rule out the possibility of anyone else being the father as well, just to further break Melanie down for assuming otherwise earlier in the season.
As for Janay’s relationship with Hill, I mean, had they brought that up consistantly in the season, I’d be inclined to think her heart was shady but this was just one episode so I have to believe she IS over him. I mean, hell, there are few exes of mine who I still am very cordial and fond of as well so it is possible. However, Hill’s note WAS questionable for a brother who supposedly has moved on. It all makes my head hurt. Why can’t everyone just resolve to do what they’re gonna do and stop looking back and holding on to old reminders? That’s nothing but a recipe for disaster when people do that.
Oh yeah and Kelly SUCKS. I can’t look at her scrawny beak without having unsolicated visions of what Keenan Ivory Wayans ( her real life beau ) makes her do in the sack. Blech!

Yeah I didn’t see where Janay wasn’t over Hill but they made it seem that way when Derwin asked and she hesitated then said that it didn’t matter. I remember her saying something about it when they first hooked up though, but not like they were in love or anything but that she dated him before Derwin. I have plenty of exes that I’m still cool with but I don’t look back at them like I would go back to be with them. They are exes for a reason! When are med school, Derwin and everybody else going to see that? lol
I don’t even want to waste the braincells worrying about Kelly’s poor love life. It’s just not that serious to me. move on or stay with Jason doesn’t matter to me either way.

hey just to clear up on the whole bear thing, it was thrown away an then retrieved from the bin (trash) by Derwin who then put it in his bedside drawer which then got found by Janay at the end of their first attempt of a relationship! I am on Team Merwin bcos their relationship has more substance and histor I find it ridiculous that Janay and Derwin r pretending to themselves that they have real feelings for each other as they know as well as we do if she wasnt pregnant they wouldnt b together, living with unhappy parents together is worse than livin with one parent and havin access to the other and they both bein happy experience is my teacher!

Thanks for stopping through and clearing that up. I couldn't remember for the life of me what happened with that stupid bear! Ya know now that you put it that way I would like to see Mel & Derwin together. I'm still riding for team Janay/Derwin b/c of the way med school has been acting but you're right about them pretending & being unhappy. Thanks for stopping through and clearing things up!
