The Game Season 3 episode 4 (Video Recap)

I decided to start doing video recaps to go along with the written recaps that I do. The first one is on last Week’s episode of The Game. I was gonna redo it because when I did it I was tired and looked the part but decided to keep it anyway and do a better job the next time. So here goes and let me know if you like/dislike it, what I can add/remove or if it’s even worth me doing. Just let me know something:

My Historic Moment

So on monday I went to do my advanced voting. I decided to go early because I didn’t want to take time off from work to do it and because I didn’t want to stand in line all day on Nov. 4th to get it done. I went after work but the line wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. I’m not sure if it was because of the location or the time. Some people that were leaving had been there for like 4-5 hours waiting. They said that at one point only one machine was working to verify voter’s info. When I got up there everything was working fine and the lines were moving fairly quickly. I was there about 2- 2.5 hrs before I was able to cast my ballot.
I really felt like I was a part of history. This is my third time voting and I have never felt that much electricity and anticipation as I inched closer and closer to the polling place. I say take advantage of the advanced/early voting because on the day of it’s going to be bananas!! I wanted to document the moment on film/digital but I was told that no cameras were allowed so here’s a short take I did later:

More to come after the election, or maybe before.

The Game Season 3 Episode 4 Recap

This episode begins with Kelly and Jason meeting to discuss how to tell Brittany that they are getting a divorce. Kelly decides to write a script * A script? are you for real?* of what they should say. Of course Jason is not feeling this at all and dumps it in the trash. She turns to Med school, Tasha and her even better friend alcohol *cough alcoholic* to sort through how to tell Brittany. Tasha says to lie about it but med school says that she should tell her the truth. She decides to take the advice of med school and tell her the truth when she comes back from her grandparent’s house.

Later that day… Med school pops by Derwin’s spot to surprise him with tickets to High School Musical 3 * Do adults really GO to see that? I mean I’ve seen 1 & 2 but I wouldn’t be caught dead in a theater watching it surrounded by a bunch of preteens and teens screaming and dancing* only to catch him on his way out to go to a doctor’s appointment with Janay. Med school then gets mad because he is going to the appointment. *Why? I mean if it’s his baby that’s a good thing that he would want to be a part of every detail right? getting mad sounds a little selfish to me*

Brittany finally comes home while kelly is making cupcakes. She makes plans to tell her why her dad isn’t there later only to find out that Jason is the one that picked them up from the airport and obviously hasn’t told his father that they are getting a divorce.

At the Doctor’s Office… Derwin is at the doctor’s office with Janay babbling all nervous. They finally get a peek at the little bunchkin via an ultrasound. As they watch the ultrasound Derwin starts to get a little emotional about the whole situation. *still don’t think it’s his baby*

Back at the Pitts’ Residence… Jason is trying his hardest to convince his father that his family is strong and nothing is wrong. While Jason’s dad puts Brittany to bed, Kelly and Jason argue about him being there and she threatens to go up and tell Brittany about the divorce. Jason dares her trying to pull her bluff card. She rushes up only to punk out and say that they are getting a cat.

Med school and Derwin go out to eat and as he’s discussing the excitement of the doctor’s appointment Janay and a ‘female friend’ come in. *uht oh. I see the jealousy in Mel’s eyes*. Derwin notices that she’s at the sushi bar and goes crazy! He goes over and tells her she can’t eat raw fish and shows that he really cares about the baby. They make a joke and as they are laughing they notice the evil eye from Med school. When he returns to the table they order their food. After he orders she orders, purposely ordering something that she’s allergic to. * why? that’s stupid*. she does this to see if Derwin would care enough about her to stop her from ordering like he did with Janay. Doesn’t work. He just says that she’s dumb for doing it. That’s when Med school goes a little elementary with it. “If I’m dumb, your baby mama is dumber… She’s charlie Brown dumb.” Just showing out and acting like a little jealous kid wanting attention. She Tells him that maybe he should have pick the right one to have a baby with, then he wouldn’t have to worry or look out for her. *Okay that was below the belt, I would’ve left her behind at the table and left after that statement*. When he goes to apoligize *for what I don’t know. She should be the one apologizing* she tells him not to let Janay see that they are making up and/or are fighting, so these fools sit down and fake laughs.

Jason’s dad comes into the room and talks to Jason in the hall to find out what’s going on. He finally tells him that they are getting a divorce. He tells him some straight talk. The only person that is going to be hurt by their behavior is the child. They just need to cut the ties, tell Brittany and move on. The next morning he sucks it up and after making pancakes and giving her Malik’s cat, he tells her that they are getting a divorce. Of course, she is upset and crying because he promised that they wouldn’t get a divorce. Kelly just sits there crying *such an ugly fake crier* while Jason is looked at as the bad guy even though she’s the one that asked for the divorce. As Jason grabs his bags to leave she says she’s sorry and runs after him thus ending another episode.

Okay so Kelly is gonna take advice from Med school and/or Tasha? Wrong choices. I mean she doesn’t have one friend that is happily married? Come on. They just need to call it quits and move on. All this back and forth is boring and taking airtime away from Derwin and med school’s situation. Speaking of Med school. Listen, I’m gonna need her to grow up and move on. Sometimes no matter how bad you want something to work, certain circumstances prevent it from happening. I wanted them to be together just as much as everyone else but her behavior tonight has changed my mind. She sees that this is a tough spot that he is in yet she keeps pushing the issue for him to choose. Knowing how Derwin is, until that baby has been proven not to be his, he will choose that child and hopefully still be friends with Mel. She just really got to me with the way she was acting at the restaurant. Just totally uncalled for.

The Game Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

This episode opens with Malik welcoming his new bride Robin Givens home by having Rose pedals spread across the floor, T.T. playing an all white Piano in an all white tux, along with attendants dressed in all white. The first thing she says is ‘Malik, we need to talk business’. *Well damn, hi to you too!* She starts right in on strategical appearances. Malik * like me* is feeling like she’s not really feeling him, but more the exposure the marriage can bring to her career. She even “pencils” in time for sex!

Med School and Derwin seem happy back together. Derwin seems to be having a little trouble in the *ahem* male department so she decides to get a little freaky to help him out. She puts on some sexy lingerie and pulls out a whip *yes a whip* she borrowed from Kelly. *nasty* When that doesn’t work she puts on a porno and it works like a charm. * Lemme find out Med school gotta a little freak in her!*

Tasha and Rick seem to be moving along pretty well until he questions why she won’t stay over instead of going home. He feels that she’s ashamed of him because she doesn’t want the folks at work to become suspicious of their relationship.

Jason is actually walking Malik’s cat on a leash. He (Malik) calls his mom but doesn’t know what to say to her so he says nothing. Robin arrives with more stuff her publicist says about photo ops when he hits her with the A word. Annulment. Then leaves.

At the office Rick asks Tasha to lunch and she blows up something crazy. He gets upset and calls her a ‘bitch’ then talks about her weave. They argue in plain sight of everyone.

Back at Derwin’s spot. After sex, Derwin goes to take a shower. Med school follows for round 2 only to see him rubbing one out in the shower. Yep, he pulled a fake one on her. She’s horrified and hurt as she walks out to find out that he’s been faking for a while. He says he doesn’t want ‘Project twins’. * project twins = when a guy gets 2 girls pregnant at the same time*. He tells her that he’s stressed trying to juggle her, Janay and the pregnancy, and rehabbing his injured leg. After hearing all that she decides that there are other things they can do so that she doesn’t get pregnant. * hmmm…*

Rick shows up at Tasha’s house to discuss their relationship. Rick was just going along with the plan at the office. She begins laying into him about what he’s gonna do and this and that. He stops her dead in her tracks and lays down his own law by putting her in her place and saying that he’s not taking the sneaking around anymore and won’t be talked to like that. * Get her Fox!*

Malik returns home from a bike ride only to find Robin, her publicist and T.T. watching ‘The insider’ as they report on her marriage to Malik. Saying they obtained the marriage license and how it’s a publicity stunt. Robin is upset because of this, even though it is a fake marriage. *Didn’t she want this publicity?* She starts to go on about how hard it is to be a black actress in Hollywood, having to compete for every chance and how she just wants to act. Malik decides that maybe they shouldn’t get an annulment and they talk about how they are going to spin this bad press into a good thing.
That ends this weeks episode.

For some reason, this episode seemed shorter than the others. Kelly and her redneck, gold-digging family are no where to be found in this one. I guess that’s a good thing. Derwin and Med school have some real issues to work out. Between his erectile dysfunction, Pregnant ex and rehab along with her insecurities about being alone they are a therapist’s dream! or nightmare… Malik and Robin’s marriage is not going to end well. I am calling it right now. I don’t care how much spin they put on it, a marriage built on lies will and cannot stand the test of time. Tasha needs to stop being so dang on controlling! I mean don’t get me wrong. I love a strong opinionated black woman that can stand on her own but enough is enough! That’s all I have to say about that or this episode for that matter. Until next time…

Some Random Thoughts

I tend to have these random thoughts that pop into my head at any given moment. I used to jot them down as they came but now that we are in the digital age I record the little tidbits on my phone. Here are a few from today:

Is it just me or is it a little late for Gen. Powell to finally endorse Sen. Obama? I mean, I know it’s not a publicity thing but a few weeks before the election When Obama is predicted to pretty much run away with it? I know it’s not a bandwagon thing, but better late than never right? I guess…

I think Twitter has taken me over. I am always on whether i’m replying or not. Kinda feel a little stalker-ish when I don’t say anything though.

Are Charles Hamilton and Asher Roth both really as good as the internet hypes them to be? Or are we caught in the matrix? Do people feel like ‘if this site links to the mixtape and says they are dope than I’ll link too to get traffic and say that they’re dope’. I was just listening to the Charles Hamilton jawn and I kinda dig it, but is it because everybody says I should dig it or do I really dig it? Kinda like when the radio plays that one song that you can’t stand all the time, after a while you start to think it’s hot even though it’s not. Hmm…

Why do people not know the definition of ‘Business casual’? The get the casual part but not the business. That means you can’t wear your pedicure shoes that you got from Ling Ling’s salon or those stretch pants you wear around the house to work. Okay? Okay.

Why is my wireless internet and cable ALWAYS having some kind of issue? Seems theres always an ‘outage’ in my area. Yeah right. Thanks Charter. Thanks for nothing!!

I really need to take some more pictures and actually print them, not just leave them on my sd card.

I wonder if I can clone myself. If I did would I do double the work or just double the goofing off?

That’s about it for now. Just some random thoughts I recorded today.

John Legend – Evolver Album Review

I want to thank BJ or giving me the chance to invade his Spot and post album reviews for him. Appreciate you homie! Now on to my album review.
 John Legend – Evolver

John Legend attempts to bring some soul and real music back to the R & B scene with his third studio album Evolver. Here he sticks to the format of good music and great lyrics equaling a timeless album.

Green Light featuring Andre 3000 – The album opens with a short interlude followed by the lead single. This track is very different from anything that’s been previously heard from him. He steps away from the piano bench and actually makes a track that makes you want to dance. This is a great up-tempo change of pace for the R & B crooner. You can’t go wrong when you add 3 stacks to any track.

It’s Over feat Kanye West – Here he wonders why she keeps calling knowing that the relationship is over and there is nothing left to talk about. They reminisce about the good times but it’s still a wrap and time to move on. Nice groove – ish type of track.

Everybody Knows – This acoustic track is about him trying to get his love back. He seems torn over the breakup and the fact that she has moved on. He then realizes that everybody knows that no one really knows how to make a relationship work and that it’s all work another chance. Something to listen to after that big break up to help you get through.

Quickly featuring Brandy – All about loving people quickly because life is short and love is all we need. Brandy sounds really good on this song and her vocal style is a great compliment to John’s. Very loving vibe to the record.

Cross The Line – This ballad is about crossing over the line from being a best friend to becoming a lover or girl/boyfriend. That is a thin line to cross. John examines both the pro’s and cons of this situation.

No Other Love Featuring Estelle – This reggae inspired tune is on point. Another track about a love lost and wanting it back because no one else compares. Estelle blesses this track with her beautiful voice and English accent.

This Time – The first slow ballad of the album. John jumps back behind the keys and belts out this beautiful song of a love lost and how if he had the chance, things would be different, this time.

Satisfaction – Here he sings about getting the satisfaction or at least the admonishment for loving her the way he does. He feels that she doesn’t love him the way he loves her and is not feeling appreciated.

Take Me Away – Another track about reminiscing over a past love. This time he is reminiscent of a lover that wanted to be taken away to a better life that he only he can provide.

Good Morning – A wake up song about waking up to the love of his life lying next to him.

I Love, You Love – A slow tune played over guitar reminiscent of an Eric Clapton tune. Here he talks of being in love with love and how love hurts but you keep on loving regardless.

If You’re Out There – This is his ‘Time for Change’ theme song. It is very motivational and inspirational as he pleads for people to stand up and make a difference.

Overall, this album is somewhat different from the previous 2 albums with more upbeat tunes as opposed to more slow love songs. The Flow of the album makes it great for an easy listening/ flowing album. It’s not too ballad heavy but stays true to form. He is afterall still an R & B singer. I would give this album 4.5 out of 5. Definitely worth the purchase.

I Am ‘That One’

Seems the Obama campaign has turned that negative slight of tongue into a positive. In this video people of all backgrounds all say that they are ‘that one’ interwoven with Barack’s DNC Acceptance speech. The video was very well edited and kind of a slap to McCain and that whole ‘that one’ line. Please enjoy the video below and don’t forget to vote for change.

I Want To Work For Diddy Season 1 Full Recap

Okay so here’s a recap of the season past episode 3. I gotta admit the show really didn’t catch my attention and I quit watching after the 2nd or 3rd episode. But to sum it all up. Kendra and Boris got into a fight and she hit him. They didn’t get sent home on that episode because Diddy was getting his star on the walk of fame and felt good so nobody went home. On the next episode they both got the boot. Next to drop was Poprah. Her mouth got her sent home. You know Diddy is not gonna let anybody just come and backtalk him making him. He sent her home without hesitation and didn’t even wait until the end. He told her she can step! alright it comes down to the final 3. Mike, Stephanie and Suzanne.
Stephanie gets sent home because she’s just not ready for the big stage yet. They all agree that in time with a little grooming she would work out but Diddy doesn’t have that type of time so she must go. it’s down to Mike and Suzanne. Ultimately Suzanne wins because she has the degree and experience working in a business atmosphere. But there’s a twist! Diddy and the dramatics! As the plane is pulling away, it stops and the door opens. Diddy calls Mike over and tells him that he has like 10 companies and would love for him to come and work at one of them. I wanted Mike to win the entire time, well 3 episodes I watched. I’m glad he gets the oppurtunity to work for Diddy, why he would want to I don’t know. Now diddy can have a little mini me on staff. that’s about it. Like I said, the show lost my attention with the horrible editing so I doubt if I’ll do it next year, but we’ll see.

Peace,
Sincere

The Game Season 3 Episode 2 Recap

The show opens with Kelly telling Tasha about her and Jason’s plans to get divorced when Med school joins them and asks Tasha fro advice on how to take Janay out of the picture. Surprisingly Tasha is actually against the idea. She also confesses to them that she’s dating Rick Fox.

Med School rolls up to Janay’s store to talk to her about her situation with Derwin. She tells her that she doesn’t believe that it’s Derwin’s baby, but seems that Janay has proof otherwise.

Jason pulls a ‘Say Anything’ move

(if you’ve never seen that movie, go see it! A classic), but plays Bobby Womack’s classic “If You Think You’re Lonely Now”. Kelly tells him to stop and leave so he walks away without saying a word. She then runs in the house to call Tasha to help her plan a sort of  ‘Get over Jason ‘ Party.

Med school comes home to a romantic dinner cooked by Derwin as he confesses how much he loves her. The romantic dinner soon turns into a romantic night of lovemaking, but Derwin can’t seem to ummerra.. “come to attention”. Then the knock on the door comes… Seems Janay has had her attorney send him a certified letter releasing him from any paternal liability to their unborn child. Med school tells him that she was the one that talked to Janay and Derwin blows up! Telling her that this situation involved only Janay and him and that he will fight for his rights. Med school then starts to cry and confess that she really doesn’t want her to have his baby, she doesn’t know if she can deal with that for the rest of her life.

Malik takes Jason out to party to get over his funk that he’s in. He’s staying with Malik now.

Med school goes over to Dion’s to crash. Dion unknowingly walks in and to everyone’s surprise (not mine, I peeped that last week) she comes in with Jerome. Of course now he thinks he’s the man because he’s gotten even with her. They both then gang up on her and Dion tells that she was cheating on him With Derwin. They both start crying and have an Oprah moment and turn the tables on Jerome.

So Malik takes Jason to a club only to find Tasha & Kelly there partying as well. Jason watches Kelly dance with some strange guy, once she sees and acknowledges him he walks off leaving her feeling dejected. Meanwhile Malik is cornered at the bar by Tasha and hassled about not returning phone calls. He lies about losing his phone. He tells her that he ran off to Vegas and married Robin. She tells him how stupid he is and starts to go off when he tells her to ‘shut the hell up’ and ‘to remember who’s the Jockey and who’s the race horse in this relationship’ then walks back out the club.

As Derwin is home reading a book, Med school pulls her own version of ‘Say Anything’ (see jason’s reference above) by playing ‘Hate That I Love You’ by Rihanna & Neyo. When he opens the door she tells him that ‘life is messy’. They kiss passionately as the credits roll.

Now Jason and Kelly both clearly don’t want a divorce but can’t seem to work things out. I think that they really love each other and want to be with each other but they just don’t know how to communicate with one another. This whole thing with Derwin, Med school and Janay is really messy. I mean I really want med school and Derwin to be together but I don’t want Derwin to turn his back and leave that child not knowing his father. If it’s his child that is. I have my doubts but a part of me believes that it is. It’s tough to have to put someone you love through that. For Med school to stay and stick it out, I don’t know if it’s real love or stupidity. I guess it depends on who you ask. Malik actually stepped up to his mom on this one.  People usually back down when she talks but he stood his ground and put her in her place. I do think that he made a stupid move by running off and marrying Robin Givens without any type of pre-nup or anything but he’s the only one that made that bed so he’ll be the only one lying in it.

Until next week….

The Game Season 3 Episode 1 Recap

This season picks up right where the last one left off. Med school is knocking on Derwin’s door as Janay confesses that she’s pregnant. As she confessing how much she loves and wants to be with him. Janay walks out of the back and he tells her that she is pregnant. To my surprise Med school says that Janay is lying and plots to prove it by having her pee on a stick to prove that she really is pregnant.

Jason has his own problems going on. Kelly has her mom and stepfather move in to their house. When Jason arrives to talk to Kelly her mom starts tripping saying she’ll call the cops on him if he doesn’t leave. Frustrated, he storms out never getting a chance to talk with Kelly.

Malik is having T.T. search all over the internet to make sure that the news of his marriage to Robin Givens hasn’t leaked. He’s afraid that his mom will find out. After being kicked out of his own house, Jason ends up staying with Malik.

Med school goes home to tell Dionne about what’s happeneing with Derwin & Janay only to find Jerome there picking up his things. Once he hears of how she is getting back with Derwin and the whole situation, out of hurt he decides to try and hurt her by saying that she was just another knotch on his belt and he’s moved on.

Derwin goes to the boutique to confront Janay and have her pee on a stick. She seems to have already told everyone that she’s pregnant with his baby because one of the girls in the store is already planning a shower and made a point of saying it over and over again.

Jason tries once again to talk to Kelly but her mom keeps blocking. This time she talks about how he is too stingy to buy them anything and that Kelly wasted her looks on the wrong rich black guy. Fed up with it all, Jason tells her to either be in the marriage or get a divorce. No more back and forth. Kelly decides to go ahead with the divorce.

Tasha sneaks up on Malik and the guys so they scramble to hide. T.T. stalls while they hide. Once Tasha searches the house and doesn’t find Malik she leaves. Malik and Jason pop up out of the trunk of a car.

Med school comes over to check on Derwin and he drops the news that she is actually pregnant. He tells her that he shouldn’t make her stay with him while he works out his situation with Janay. She tells him that she loves him and will be with him no matter what. She decides to get something to eat for the both of them, once she gets outside the door she breaks down crying.

So that is where this episode ends. Med school is sticking it out with Derwin no matter what. Malik still hasn’t told his mom that he’s married and is afraid to. Jason and Kelly are going to get divorced thanks to her racist, money hungry, overbearing mom. Now I think that the whole Med school & Derwin situation is crazy. I mean as soon as we think they are getting back together all happily ever after, Janay comes and throws a monkey wrench into the program! Never really liked her to start with. Jason and Kelly really need to work out their situation. I mean without her mom around. Just sit down and talk it out. Communication is the key, especially in their situation. Malik needs to man up and tell his mom what he did. He definitely doesn’t want her to have to find out from someone else that he’s married. We all know how ghetto and crazy she is! Until next time…
