The Wire Season 5 episode 5
So the Greek has no choice but to work with Marlo since Prop Joe is no longer in the picture. Now he thinks he’s the king of Baltimore. Chris says his goodbyes to his family as he goes into hiding to avoid the wrath of Omar. Senator Clay Davis looks to be going down and quickly but not without a fight and taking some people with him. Sheeeeeeeit! It would be in his best interest to go out peacefully and come back stronger than ever after this is over. Carcetti seems like he’s trying to make a difference but can’t win for losing. There is something about him though, haven’t quite figured it out yet. Ever since Michael took Dook off the corner because they weren’t respecting him they don’t respect him more and get at him every chance they get. Good thing Cutty is there to try and teach him a little something in the gym. Marlo has seemed to learn a little from Prop Joe by working with Pay lawyer Levy, but he shouldn’t have given him the cell number the Greek gave him to use because Herc gave it to Carver who it turn gave it to Lester. I see the newspaper story developing into something but they need to hurry it up because they are boring me. With them running the story about the homeless killer hitting front page, they may have done something right. Carcetti gave unlimited overtime to catch this ‘guy’ but only 2 detectives to work the case. The newspaper will most likely play a big role in this fake serial killer/Marlo case that Mcnulty and Lester are cooking up. slowly but surely Omar is stalking his prey like a lion on the sierra waiting to ponce. This will make for a climactic ending. Bubs seems to be doing well but battling more with regret and past demons than with the drug habit. Michael has turned into a baby Chris almost, trying to teach Dook how to shoot was pointless. He’s just not built for that. The street life is not for everybody. After sitting on the condo for probably weeks, Omar makes his move. *The climactic ending I was referring to earlier* He bursts in and is met by gunfire from Snoop, Chris and even Michael is in on it! They trade soldier for soldier and bullet for bullet until Omar runs out seemingly trapped behind the sofa. In a crazy move he jumps up, runs to the balcony and leaps off Batman style! When they get to the balcony he has disappeared like a ghost. So Lester has the wiretap up and running on Marlo, while having the powers that be think they are tracking the serial killer. A call comes in and Lester intercepts it only to find that it’s not a voice on the other end but some sort of encrypted message.
And that’s where we stand for this episode. I am proud to admit that this will make my 100th post! And it’s on The Wire!!
Peace and Blessings,
Sincere
