Making The Band 4 Season 2 Episode 1

So the season starts off pretty much like any other, the guys meet at the airport get transported to the hotel where they’ll be staying. This season has a twist. instead of it being just the guys making an album it’s going to be the guys, Donnie and Danity Kane all coming together to make their albums. Can you say chaos!! Too many young attractive people together with no ‘real’ supervision spells disaster. there are already little couples forming and it’s only the first episode. so far it’s;

D. Woods and Robert * not really feeling the hair on either one of them but if you like I love it, I guess*
Dawn and Q
Now Dawn and Q I must admit make a cute couple but that damn Aubrey gets on my last nerve! She’s just so out of pocket all the time. Even Diddy had to pull her to the side and let her know that she needs to take it down a peg or two. I can’t wait to see what the albums end up sounding like. I think Donnie will brick, but that may just be the hater in me. Go figure. Okay so moving on.. so they are in the studio and in comes Diddy. What comes out of his mouth? “Y’all trying to be like Jodeci”. Huh? Are you for real? I mean when I first heard the band I thought to myself ‘Diddy done gone and made himself another Jodeci’. I mean my man Brian was screaming a little JoJoish but come on, that’s what you want and we all know this. If Diddy could turn this group into the 2008 version of Jodeci we all know that he would. Overall the first episode was a pretty eventful one. Not too much but just enough to keep you tuned in. If I missed anything give me a reaction.

The Wire Season 5 Episode 4

Guess who’s bizzack!!! It’s Omar and he is out for blood! Marlo is getting some advice from the Greeks but he still has a lot to learn. I can’t believe he killed Prop Joe, I mean Prop Joe did everything for him and was trying to teach him how to make his dirty money legit. Ah well, it is what it is. Sen. Clay Davis is one of the coolest men I’ve seen in a while but when he came out of that grand jury investigation he looked like he was about to pass out. But in true Clay Davis form, when the cameras are there he can turn that shine on. McNulty and Lester have really gotten into this homeless serial killer thing. They even have “Gordon” from Sesame Street helping them out. It felt so funny hearing him curse! I see that Carver is actually stepping up. He was right to write that guy up. He was totally out of line. I think he may one day become commissioner. Speaking of commissioner, the mayor will have his hands full with Rawls as acting commissioner. I know that Daniels will eventually step in but if Rawls is anything like he’s been in the past, he will find some kind of trouble to get into. Of course, Chris and Snoop are doing what they do best. They will still have to pay for what they did to Butchie. That should make an interesting and bloody episode when they finally meet up with Omar. * on a side note; You guys should check out her book entitled ‘Grace After Midnight’* Ummm.. That’s about it for now, I’ll check in later for anything that I think of.

Making The Band 4′s New Season

So Diddy, Sean John or whatever he goes by these days, is starting a new season of Making The Band. The new season starts on Jan 28th. I saw a recap/preview episode and it seems like the same foolishness that was in the other seasons. A bunch of kids running around a house somewhere in New York arguing, fighting,kissing and making a little bit of music. It’s something about reality shows. I’m drawn to certain ones for some reason. Not all of them but some of them spark my interest. this is one of them. I like to see how far people will go to fulfill their dreams. I am waiting on ‘Real Housewives of NY’ to pop off so I can compare them to Orange county. Bravo seems to have a hold on me with these reality shows. I also like ‘first 48′ on A & E, I watch that every chance I get. Even the reruns. But back to Diddy and his crew of misfits. I see that some people have changed while some are the same.

Dawn is still in need of a new or better weave job, just busted!
Aundrea looks the same, still a little cutie pie!
D. Woods looks like she’s a little smaller and in better shape, My favorite!
Shannon looks better with the darker look this time around, she seems like the mature one.
Aubrey just needs to go sit down somewhere, she gets on my last nerve!
Now on to the guys;

There hasn’t been much of a change in these guys. Mike looks to have lost a little more weight. Robert needs a new hairstyle, I know Diddy wanted him to cut the braids but the S-Curl/Soul-glo is not hot.
And we can’t forget about Donnie;

Looks like he got a solo deal and a deal with Aubrey!! We’ll see how this develops..
But the main thing I am going to miss is;

Miss Laurie Ann “that’s the Gotcha Gotcha” Gibson!!

The Wire Season 5 episode 3

Okay so I have really come to the conclusion after watching him self destruct for the past 4 years that Detective Jimmy McNulty has really lost his mind! I mean he has really lost it. Trying to make up a serial killer? That is crazy! Drinking at 4am can’t be good for anyone especially him but it’s always happy hour somewhere in the world right? I guess.. I can’t wait to see how this whole serial killer thing plays out. he even has Lester getting involved! I wonder what motive and name they can cook up.
I really think that Marlo is stepping into a world that he’s not ready for. I mean he’s no Stringer Bell. He might want to take a class or two on business before he steps up to the Greeks on some business type stuff. Just walking in with a briefcase full of money is not going to cut it. He needs to slow down and wait his turn. Eventually his head will wear the crown, but only when he’s able to fit it. Seems Prop Joe has some work to do on him.
Looks like my man Senator Clay Davis is going down. They seem to be going after his fake non profits first and hitting the staff. No matter how long it takes he’s going away. Sheeeeeiit! They even have my man Darnell ” I’m rich Biatch!” Rawlings as his driver/money scapegoat.
Looks like Omar will be back sooner than he planned off of what Chris and Snoop have gone and done. Just senseless. Butchie hasn’t heard anybody.
That’s about it for this episode. Except looks like there’s some shaking up going on at the paper, but layoffs, buyouts and doing more with less is going on everywhere these days.

By The Way;
Making the band is starting up again and I can’t wait! I missed the original airing of the recap/preview show because of some scheduling conflicts ( sleep, then The Wire came on). You know how MTV is though, they will play it every other hour until the premiere and then every 4th hour after that. why is it called Music Television if 98% of their programming is not music? But whatever, it is what it is.

Politricks

I really don’t delve too deeply into the whole politricks game. I follow it but I don’t really write about it here because I have diverse readers and we have different views. I just want you to vote, I don’t care who you vote for, but vote. Don’t vote just because someone says so, but choose a candidate that best represents what you stand for, whomever that may be. Anyway, I had to say something about this though. For my Obama supporters, and Clinton supporters as well, you knew that the race is going to be close. Why did you think that they would make a clean sweep? You don’t have to win every battle to win the war… Think on that the next time you pouting. I did see/hear something on Monday that kind of disturbed me. It was bobby J (Robert Johnson-Founder of BET) endorsing Hilary. Look, I have no problem with him or Magic Johnson supporting Hilary but when he started talking about how the Clintons have been involved in the lives and care of black people while Obama was doing stuff in the street ( Talking about Obama’s admitted drug use back in the day) that kind of got under my skin. It’s like he was saying Obama doesn’t care about black people (doing my best Kanye vs. Bush impersonation). I mean you should be the last person to talk about someone Else’s moral midgetry.. Mr. BET? come on… Anyway, maybe I’m reading into it a little too much but it is what it is. I do support Barack Obama but if hilary Clinton were to win the candidacy I won’t hate. I mean either way it’s a good look..

2. Oprah is gonna have her own network called, what else, Oprah Winfrey Network!! She started out as just an investor in the Oxygen Network now she has her own thing going on. I can’t be mad! I am definitely gonna be watching this.. The Oprah show all day? Sheeeiit!! And so what if I’m a guy that likes to watch Oprah. If you want to find out what women want or somehow figure out what they are thinking and why than that’s the place to be. Trust!

Now Mr Johnson is all on Wolf Blitzer and nem talking about how he was caught up in emotion and all. Negro please!!! You better write a little speech stating your support and stick to the script!! No adlibs allowed. And if you’re going to go off cuff than stick with what you said, don’t try and take it back later. Man up.

The Wire Season 5 Episode 2

Okay so when this episode started I’m thinking ‘ here we go with another boring episode until the good stuff starts’. I was half right. They are still building, but there were some good surprises that came early. Avon and Clay Davis back in the same episode? Sheeeeiiiittt!! I was pretty happy about that. I’m still kind of leery about how Avon is trying to help Marlo get the Greek connect. I mean I know how much Avon loves the West side and detests Prop Joe and the East side, but he doesn’t like Marlo and to let that go for $100,000 to go to his sister? Something’s up with that. I just gotta wait and see. My man at the paper is slowly getting shuffled out by the new system. Maybe I’ll get more into the Paper’s storyline as the season progresses and they tie it into the whole drug and politic game. This episode wasn’t as much of a disappointment as the first episode. I think I see where they are trying to go. Mayor Carcetti has really screwed up with the State Attorney General’s office. I can’t say that I blame him though. It’s not his call to give up Clay Davis. It was out of his hands so I wouldn’t beg for it either but in the same token they could really use the help. Sometimes you gotta take one for the team. I guess… Now that there’s no more money and they disbanded Major crimes, Marlo has released the dogs!! The dogs as in Snoop and Chris. Little do they know that Lester is not going to quit until he can nail both Marlo and whoever is behind Clay Davis’ money. That’s about all for episode 2. Oh and I am really not feeling the new opening song. I really didn’t like it last season with the kids singing, but hey if they like I love it!

The Wire Season 5 Episode 1

So I just finished watching the first episode of The Wire (yes, I resisted the urge to watch it on demand and waited for the actual season premiere) and I have to say that I’m a little disappointed. But I know that it’s early in the season and time will tell. I can’t believe they dismantled major crimes! Now Marlo will really have free reign of the west side. He’s already stirring up stuff in the co-op. For those of you that don’t watch The Wire you’re probably like ‘ what is this fool talking about?’ Well I can’t really explain it all so just go here and get a recap. I see that Bubs is off the dope, for now at least. His sister could at least let him stay in the basement. I mean she did lock the door. As far as the city goes… I think that Mayor Carcetti is in a no win situation. I mean he used the money earmarked for the police on the struggling school system, and had to shaft the cops. But if he paid the cops the school system would have suffered. Glad I’m not mayor. Michael is slowly turning into the next Marlo. That’s about it for now. If you can think of anything I missed, catch me in the reactions. I’m waiting on Senator Clay Davis to deliver his famous line “Shiiiiiiiittt!” *doing my best impression*

It’s a new year and I’ve been tagged by my good friend Lisa to share some weird stuff about me. I’ve done this already but since Lisa is my homey I’ll add 7 extras for ya. first here are the rules;

Alrighty, here we go. Sorry but they aren’t really that weird, maybe a little strange but not so weird. To me at least but maybe I’m weird. hmmm… Anyway here are 7 more for ya;

1) I am addicted to movies. I’ve seen too many to count. There’s nothing better than to pop some popcorn, plop down in front of 62 inches of pure HD happiness.

2)I’ve seen
Coming To America about 12 trillion times!! I can even do it word for word with the different voices and all!! Kinda like Will Smith in I Am Legend (if you haven’t seen it, go right after you finish reading this!)

3) I have been the same size since about 7th or 8th grade. I think I may have grown an inch or 2 since then. I also look like I’m 17 or 18 years old (see pic below) even though I’m 28..

4)I like to fall asleep to music or the television. I have trouble falling asleep in silence.

5) I think I have a dash of OCD with a touch of ADHD! Neither is bad enough for medication or anything but just enough to drive my wife crazy!

6) I am addicted to sunflower seeds *as I pop a handful on my mouth* but they have to be David sunflower seeds. Which goes back to the obsessive thing from #5. I will literally drive all around the city until I find them. It’s that bad. There is no substitute, sorry..

7) I like to watch TV with the closed captions on. With or without the sound.

Bonus – I learn a new word everyday and I have to work it into my daily conversations at some point at least 7 times..
