Just my thoughts on 9-15-06

I’ve been struggling with myself on whether or not to talk about this first topic but here goes. I know this has been discussed and blogged to death but why Bobby and Whitney? Why? First the Fat Boys break up( shout to Jay Z)…. They seemed so right at being so wrong. What about Being Bobby Brown? That was one of my favorite reality shows( I think Bravo does really well in reality TV). They gave so many bad relationships hope. They had people thinking ” we have our problems, but we’re no Whitney and Bobby and they’re still together. Maybe we can work it out.” They were free relationship therapy by just watching them. When I got the news of the divorce filing the first thing I thought was, hell to the naw!!!! I guess all good things must come to an end. Oh well, it is what it is.
On to other news…..
Not to get political, but has anyone seen the new republican commercial trying to justify the war? Who are they fooling? Are you for real? The president held a press conference today(9-15) and sounded his usual lost self… smh… Oh well, it is what it is. He gives C students a bad name.
Moving on to happier news….
Jay Z is coming out of his 3 year( if you don’t count his numerous guest spots) retirement from hip hop on November 21st with ‘Kingdom Come’. I knew it wouldn’t last. I’m actually surprised that it lasted this long. I mean how many times has Too Short retired only to drop an album the following year? Hopefully he won’t pull a MJ( no disrespect to MJ, but we all saw he couldn’t run with the new kids.. half of them grew up trying to be like him). Not that anybody new is close to touching Jay’s skills, but you get the point. The game has changed. I just want him to go out on top. Don’t be a George Foreman or Muhammed Ali is all.

What’s the deal with the new Survivor? I have to admit the plan worked. At least on me it did. I have not seen survivor since the first season. And I didn’t even watch the whole season, just bits and pieces. So when I heard all the hype surrounding the division of the tribes by race, I told myself I wouldn’t watch and that it would only further confirm racist stereotypes. But I did watch it. By accident( for real!!). I was watching an earlier Regis and Kelly( #1 morning talk show) on DVR and when it went off the TV was already on the channel and I got sucked in. I doubt if I will watch it all the way until the end, even after they combine the tribes. The thought of being stranded on an island is just not that appealing to me. Now the new season fo Amazing Race is about to start. That is something I will make a point to watch/record. That’s all for today. until next time. It is what it is.
